A Lovely Listen
on 12 June 2011
Whilst I enjoyed the previous singles from Jennifer, the debut never really inspired me with me finding some tracks a little dull however this album is the complete opposite, allowing me to listen from start to finish with no tracks that i want to skip.
No One Gonna Love You - 10/10 - Brilliant song with a great hook - reminds me of Mary J Blige - Gotta be a single!!!
I Got This - 10/10 - An inspirational song with again great vocals and a good beat
Where You At - 10/10 - A beautiful song to show off Jennifer's immense vocal range with gorgeous lyrics
Angel - 9/10 - Though it's not as memorable it is still a beautiful song with good lyrics but seems to get lost
I Remember Me - 10/10 - A fantastic comeback with awesome vocals, great lyrics and a generally feel good vibe
Gone - 10/10 - A great little song with great lyrics that wouldn't be out of place on a Leona Lewis album
Everybody Needs Love - 10/10 - This is a great song with a different pace and should be a single
Why Is It So Hard - 10/10 - A ballad written by Ne-Yo which is great with a catchy chorus
Don't Look Down - 9/10 - A great uptempo number which is a little different for Jennifer but the chorus lacks
Still Here - 10/10 - A spine tingling power ballad about her personal tragedies creating a gorgeous song
Feeling Good - 10/10 - A cover but she makes it a song that you could think was hers originally - so stylish!!!
Believe - 9/10 - Not the best as it has slightly boring verses yet is saved with a fantastic chorus
The Star Spangled Banner - 8/10 - This is the only filler but showcases her voice but i'd have preferred a new song
What You Think - 9/10 - A good song, but not the best but it has a really good hook and a powerful chorus
Love Is Your Colour - 10/10 - A duet with Leona Lewis from Sex And The City - 2 powerhouses and a beautiful song
Spotlight - 10/10 - we all know this and it still sounds great
Overall a great second album that should have done better - a voice like hers entertains for hours and i can't wait until album 3
