This documentary is the 'fourth' one in a terrific series that started with "tales from the golden age", and going thru "after the crash" and "both ends of the rainbow"...

This instalment covers the period of Dylan's triumphant resurgance and runs from 1990 to 2008

all four of these titles follow the career of the greatest songwriter ever, featuring information and highlights for every dylan fan, presented by fellow musicians and music critics...

these are not concerts, nor video collections...these are documentaries by people who know, that you may not know...most of the 'journalists' featured are heavy-duty names in the music industry, from newspapers and magazines that are mostly found in europe, and some of the better new york music locations...

there are also a selection of Dylan's colleagues from the period on hand plus lots of rare footage and performanes.

well worth picking up, as are the rest of this on-going series.

I was fascinated by this DVD. The experts know their subject so well: it took me back to the pleasure of attending good lectures at university. Dylan's earlier output I know very well; this DVD took me in detail through his output since 1990, and I was pleased to find that most of the contributors had been unimpressed at those stages of his concert career when I had been, as well as enthusiastic about the excellence he also achieved many times in the period. What I liked above all was their attention to Dylan's relationship to his audience: they make it clear that he isn't aloof from the need to reinvent himself so as to re-engage with the times.

Some interesting bits, and a few good clips of Dylan, but basically someone making money out of getting a few people to opine about Dylan.

Love This Series !
As with the others ... know what you are buying: it is commentary on Dylan rather than Dylan himself.

Usually I do not care for music DVDS that talk constantly about music, or a performer. But this series uncovers some very interesting things that I wasn't aware of about Bob Dylan, things that I never though about.
Especially Bob Dylan apparent conversion to Christianity. This film explains about what happened to Bob Dylan around this time - how he was exploited by people claiming to be a part of Christianity.
This is a very interesting film about Bob Dylan, if indeed you adore all things Bob Dylan, as I do...
Well worth buying and very illuminating about Bob Dylan.
