Good plain pop music. They certainly miss the input of Paul Carrick and the late Paul Young. It was these two that gave the songs such impetus and meaning. I was lucky enough to see the original line up perform and they were amazing with Paul Young fronting the stage with his exuberance and energized vocals and Paul Carrick on keyboards and his such inimitable vocal style. Sadly the current line up although very good and professional just don't seem to be able to transmit the energy and feeling of the songs like the original line up. So overall a good album if you like soft rock/pop but not up to the standards which we had become accustomed to.

Whoever mastered this onto CD should hang their head in shame. Great musicians, great talents with a recording spoilt by someone trying to make every track plain loud ... it is clipped and therefore distorted. MP3 listening is fine as this never reveals such flaws, but put the CD on any reasonable hi-fi and it's embarrassing. No doubt hours were spent writing, playing, recording, mixing and then they gave to someone to musically ruin - sadly, they were successful.

The new line up don't quite reach the levels of earlier works, the new album Let me fly is more accomplished. I will still play this regularly as it has some good tracks.

The songs and their singers are brilliant. I could not imagine, Mike and the Mechanics, surviving after Paul & Paul, left, and died. But, bravo!!
