It looks as if it has been heavily used. As you can see in the photos I uploaded it has chips in places, things peeling off, photos I haven't included have chips in the wood. The lift is very stiff, impossible for my child to move it.
Having said that, the wood itself is very sturdy once it's built. A child will get a lot of use out of it. I can see from other reviews that this has happened to others but that it isn't the norm. I was given a partial refund and Amazon were really helpful, this along with the sturdiness of it is what gives it the extra star.
