What an outstounding series.
A very professional presentation from a well balanced team who impressed with their enthusiasm for the subject and the skills they exhibited.
I was very sorry to get to the end of the series and an indicator of it's value will be in the repeat viewings I will treat myself to.
The decision as to which sections of the ship would be used to illustrate the building technique could not have been easy but top marks for the five chosen. What amazing engineering feats were performed by our forefathers.
I particularly liked the method of historic footage and modern return to the sites with commentary that seemed new considering what has gone before on the subject of the Titanic.
Great value and everlasting interest to be had here.

Saw this on TV and thought it was great. History brought to life through the construction of the ill fated ship. The effort that went in to designing the three ships, building them, fitting the 'Titanic' out and the eventual loss of life. If your into 'Titanic' or 1910 history told from ship building perspective then give this your time. You will be amazed !

It was an honor to be part of this acclaimed series. As a Titanic researcher for over 30 years, when I heard that a new series was in the pipeline I was apprehensive at first. Most recent documentaries focusing on the ill-fated liner seem to copy cat one another with most information repeated. However, this series is original, facinating and never over-technical in terms of how the worlds most famous ship came about. It gives a good insight into how the ship was conceived, including the series large number of iconic sections of the ship being recreated for this series, from the tip of the liners bow, the 16 ton anchor, to a section of her lavish 1st class Smoking Room. Now matter what facination you have in Titanic, this will surely cover everything. The final chapter which see's the famous Southampton Engineers Memorial being cleaned and repaired was a fitting triubute to not only those who built this grand ship, but those who were lost.

I got the DVD in fact few days ago. I thoguht it will take more time but it didn't - to get here.
Well - except that there are not the English subtitles(can live With it) it's still very good. First I saw the serie on Narional Geographic and was inpressed. The guys really do a great job and(i don't want to spoil..)the anchor had the horses trying to carry it - a huge object built exactly like in 2012(or a bit before:). Anyway it was a great efford to erect parts of the ship and fascinating to watch how they pulled this off step by step. With great success!

Very good documentary, if not a litle biased. At the start of each episode it has the narrator saying "She was the largest moving object for her time..and she was built in the UK"

It is known the world over she was built in Ireland, because that is where Belfast is..Ireland.

Great DVD. Perfect quality. Lovely and funny people. Even better that I live by Netherton. Seemed like a real documentary and not some home video as some can be. Definately recommended.
