Fine chips, taste fantastic, easy to sprinkle, only 1 tablespoon needed for smoked flavour, bit pricey though.

This hickory is fantastic! Love it! Its a bit pricey though, but otherwise, you won't go wrong with this stuff. I paid full price and like it very much for smoking meat and fish. The chip size is very small but you get a great many table spoons full in your tub.
The tub containing the hickory chips weighed 170 grams. Manufacturer claims not to have used any preservatives or additives, and I can't smell anything chemical, which is what you want. Excellent.
Woods used for smoking range from mild to strong in flavour. From "milder" woods, like apple wood, peach, cherry and pear which can impart some of the sweetness in the woods into the meat, you then get birch which is a tad stronger. This hickory is in the middle of the range and it is marvellous!! Hickory (like maple or pecan) has a slightly stronger flavour than the milder woods, and it has a mouth wateringly good taste when used for smoking! But being in the middle of the range, it is very versatile and also very popular because it is so very good.
Hickory is hugely popular choice amongst seasoned smoker pro's, you won't go wrong with these chips, and will likely come back to it after you've tried all the rest, so its safe to buy as a newcomer to smoking and is highly recommended for that reason.
Delicious foods to try your hand at smoke include fish like salmon, macrel, trout etc, boneless chicken breasts, bacon, you can smoke cheese, your steaks, hams, and other cuts of meat. Try smoking meats before frying, grilling, BBQing or even before making one pot stews. The flavour is fantastic!
I can't wait to cure some home made bacon and smoke it with this hickory. Whatever you smoke, don't be tempted to over do it. Less is sometimes more when it comes to smoking.
