Not sure what I'm listening to here. Is it Rick Wakeman? Is this the original music? I have grave doubts.
None of the titles/timings seem to match up and the music too often sounds like some kind of session musician pastiche.

I've had a previous similar experience with Amazon, it was a 'Bob Seger' album that had been nowhere near Bob Seger!
Please Amazon, a little more checking that the goods are as described, there's not normally a problem. Thank you.

If you like Rick you'll probably already have the originals. If you're just curious about his musc, I'd suggest you buy the originals.
I was just trying to fill a gap in my collection and, whilst it's not unpleasant music, I don't feel it was the best £2.97 I've ever spent (!).

I WAS UNSURE OF WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A RICK WAKEMAN RECORD,BUT NOW I HAVE HEARD THIS ALBUM I HAVE BECOME A FAN. I WAS AMAZED AT THE MUSICIANSHIP OF RICK, OFTEN WONDERING HOW HE PLAYS SO FAST AND THE SOUNDS HE USES. IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANY OF MR WAKEMAN'S MATERIAL YOU WILL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THIS COLLECTION OF HIS FINEST WORK. WELL WORTH PURCHASING

This didn't do it for me, did not have the 'wow' factor I anticipated. I love seeing him on 'Grumpy old men' and he is a brilliant musician. ! Pity because he's playing in Gloucester in June and I would have paid to see him.

I remember these the 'first time round'. If I were to choose the very best three tracks of his early solo career, these would be them.
Forget trying to hunt out the early vinyl, there's a lot of stuff there which hasn't aged that well, thankfully, it doesn't apply in this case.
One is spared the pretensions of the fully blown 'concept album' instead a broadly representative example of his early work.
In the days of strictly analogue-only keyboards, Wakeman stood a head and shoulders above the competition.
In terms of describing where he fitted in at the time? somewhere between Wendy Carlos and Kraftwerk.
If you only buy one Wakeman album in your lifetime, this is an ideal choice.
Mozart he aint, but then again, neither is he Pete Waterman!
