A very beautiful album featuring the literally angelic tones and modulation of the accomplished Serbian vocalist Divna Ljubojevic who renders a selection of performances of liturgical 'sacra musica' from the Byzantine traditions of the Eastern Orthodox Church, characterized by a luminous tonal quality of divine purity and spirituality - Divna's exquisite voice shines out and soars against a sustained antiphonal backdrop of sonorous chant. All these liturgical pieces are of an exceptional quality and this is an album well worth obtaining as this calibre of music never ages - this is because it is not of the past, the present or the future - it is not of time at all but truly the divine music of eternity, timeless, sublime and transcendental. In particular Divna's performance of the 'Kyrie Eleison' is rapturous, entrancing. Divna's magnificent talent illuminates the brilliance of the sacred music of Orthodoxy, a music which is purely vocal in nature and devoted solely to the highest glory of God, the Holy Trinity and the Theotokos. Along with the Romanian singer Angela Gheorgiu, Divna Ljubojevic's work opens up the majesty and beauty of the Orthodox heritage.
