There are 3 Episode 1 Lego kits available at the moment - this one, the Naboo Starfighter & Darth Maul's sith ship.

This one is great as it is the only kit that is current that has Jar Jar Binks in it - Gungans very rare in Lego. Other than this you can only get Jar Jar as a key ring. The Gungans are a nice minifigure, solid plastic head and big floppy ears. One comes with a purple shield & Jar Jar has a tray of blue bombo's.

It also has 10 battle droids in it, for building up your droid army. You cant buy this many droids together at the moment in any current kit. This in itself gives it great playability, as you can act out any droid battle using this set. You also end up with quite a few spare droid arms. So good value for money at the rrp £25.99.

It is quite a fiddly build the recommended age is 7-12 on this, although there are not that many bricks (50 of the 200 or so bits are probably Droid parts). Once built it is not as robust as other models. Mostly the droids pop out of their storage compartments and the blasters get knocked off. There are a few other decorative bits that come off easy, so if your child is a bit robust with their lego and you dont like repairing the transporter - just let them have the mini-figs & then bombs away!

Lets face it, Lego really know how to milk the brand and charge a fortune for what is essentially little bits of plastic. Having said that, if you have kids this is one of the best sixteen pounds you can spend on Lego Star Wars kit and keep them happy for hours.
It comes with 2 x Driver droids, 8 x Battle droids, Jar Jar Binks and a Gungan fighter which having just totted up on Ebay (second hand) came to thirty one pounds plus carriage however on Amazon you get them NEW with transporter (which is quite a nice ship) included in the set. The cage at the back of the transporter which the droids are mounted on detaches (a nice touch) and while not huge, the transporter with the droids mounted on it, really does look great!
At this price, you can buy a couple and make your own mini droid army (although against 4 Naboo I know who my money would be on!).
Expensive plastic or cheap art? For as much peace and quite we have had out of this toy, it's great value for money!

Bought this for my Star Wars obsessed little boy for his fifth birthday. He needed some help building it, but is is not too difficult for him.

It is fairly robust, the droids load into a cartridge that can be taken off the main carrier, which is ok.

The best bit about is the shear number of battle droids and other characters for the price (was about £15) it is fantastic value.

My 5 year old is obsessed with the star wars minifigures and there are loads of droids in this pack. Nice little droid carrier but the minifigures are an absolute winner. Most packs this size are lucky to get four figures!!! 10droids, jar jar blinks plus a gungan soldier.

Excellent service and it arrived ahead of time, on first look packing looked suspect as it was old used plastic bags, but the content was brand new. So it shows that first impressions in this case do not count, and it was a good job I looked further.

My son just loves this product, being a big fan of lego and of course star wars, He managed to build it all by himself which is very good because he is only six years old.

Great product

This was pretty cheap compared to some of the other sets and the kids liked it. I thought the little droid figures were a bit flimsy and cheap looking but the kids love them and have used it a lot. They love it.
