No-one can deny Elvis worked like a Trojan and was dedicated to his art
on 5 September 2016
There's an undeniable sadness in this that "That's The Way It Is" doesn't suffer from. This was made post the break-up with Priscilla and, debatably (along with the passing of his Mother), is something Elvis never truly recovered from. What's frightening is the intensity of the fans' screaming hysteria! I don't think anyone should be subjected to that! No-one can deny Elvis worked like a Trojan and was dedicated to his art, but I'd sooner be reminded of the other films because they each tell their own stories and don't drive home that Elvis was trapped and working to fill the pockets of a truly despicable man - his "Manager." Hard not to feel sad indeed.
