There's an undeniable sadness in this that "That's The Way It Is" doesn't suffer from. This was made post the break-up with Priscilla and, debatably (along with the passing of his Mother), is something Elvis never truly recovered from. What's frightening is the intensity of the fans' screaming hysteria! I don't think anyone should be subjected to that! No-one can deny Elvis worked like a Trojan and was dedicated to his art, but I'd sooner be reminded of the other films because they each tell their own stories and don't drive home that Elvis was trapped and working to fill the pockets of a truly despicable man - his "Manager." Hard not to feel sad indeed.

It's Elvis, it's On Tour brilliant. Would of given it 6 stars if the opening song Johnny B. Goode hadn't been replaced with Don't be cruel
Shame really, maybe Chuck Berry wouldn't allow it because maybe he thinks Elvis' version is far superior and it outshines he's own version.

Elvis on Tour has been released on VHS, VCD, DvD and now Blu Ray, MGM has got its money back many times over on this 89 minute film so when they released it on Blu-Ray you expect a deluxe package.
Instead you get Johnny B Goode axed and replaced by an extended version of Don't be cruel and absolutely NO EXTRAS - there are hours and hours of outtakes available from this project including studio rehearsals of Burning Love, Proud Mary, Always on My Mind as well as unreleased concert footage of How Great Thou Art, For the good times to name but a few.

If you replace Johhny B Goode with Don't be cruel - why stop there ?
Love me tender with all the movie screen kisses (CUT) - black and white Ed Sullivan footage with Vernon Presley interview (Cut) and of course the unforgettable security officer showing Elvis exit route from the building (CUT).

The film would flow better for a start and you have much better footage to replace this with - you're better of with the DvD Elvis On Tour - The Outtakes - 100% Elvis and no waffle !!!!!
