Although I knew Robben from his stuff with his brothers (the Mark Ford band), this is the
first CD I buy from his solo career. I am blown away, really. Great songs, nice voice ... and
of course fluid and amazing guitar. And what a SOUND! Perfect. The cover of John Hiatt's 'I am
a real man" is very enjoyable. If you like blues, this is for you. If you like guitar, this is for
you. BUY THIS. As for me, I am going to get my hands on all his other albums.

Unlike most albums with the album fillers at the end, this has 'em in the middle! starting with a tribute to the mighty SRV and the beautifully smooth 'cut me to the bone' it promises to be another stunningly crafted Mr Ford album.......d'oh! not quite sure what happened but i think possably some lyrical direction was lost. look at the titles, 'I'm a real man'(?) Oh please! musically nothing's missing. It's still our robben playing that guitar like a beautiful women! and then.....like a touch of god....comes 'Life Song'. If there is one tune that sticks with you for the rest of your life, this IS it! I would recommend this album for this song alone. If your a guitarist (like me) it will make you pick up ya axe and learn it.
So, in a nutshell, if your a die hard fan, want to learn some fab guitar tecniques or love sheer musicality (if that's a word) buy it....if your not fussed, why you reading this?
