I really do not agree with the "Pistol fan" who recommends to avoid this because heavily manipulated (as he claims). Assuming you like classic punk, and Sid Vicious in particular, this is a must have CD. As shown by the track listing, the number of songs featured is limited - but that was what Sid did in reality. It is a piece of history, in addition, as these were some of the few performance Sid gave solo. The track I enjoy most is Something Else, in particular that found on CD 1 part 1. That is real power! Go get this CD.

While this album contains much higher quality recordings of some of Sid's gigs at Max's Kansas City in NYC than those circulating on the usual bootlegs, anyone looking to buy this set should be aware that these recordings have also been extensively tampered with by guitarist Steve Dior, who have overdubbed new, very prominent guitar parts that were not part of the original performance, needlessly ruining the authenticity of the recording.

Look for the so-called "Grape Tapes" bootleg instead, and hear the real thing, with more shows included than here.

Anyone who is interested in really hearing what Sid's solo gigs in NYC really sounded like, should be aware that the gigs featured on this CD, while sounding very good, are actually heavily manipulated by guitarist Steve Dior, who has overdubbed new guitar parts all over the original recordings. So, yet another opportunity wasted by short-sighted greed.

Avoid.

i'd just like to point out, it was steve DOIR and not steve new who played on this album and did the new over dubs on this album.
