Paul Menel was the singer with prog rockers IQ between 1996 and 2000, when they were well past what passed for their commercial peak. However, he did get to tour as opening act for Mike & The Mechanics, so it all worked out. And fans of M&TM will enjoy this, let me tell you.
Rumour has it Mr Menel ended up as a tennis coach in the South of France, so why on earth he would want to return to the world of rock and / or roll is anyone's guess. This is quite good in a late eighties It Bites kind of way, but is going to toil to make a mark in the horrible world of modern music.
Which may be why I thoroughly enjoyed this. After all, you don't do time in a dodgy prog band called Parthenon without yearning for the heady days of old. Give it a listen.
