Having found this Danish band through their most recent album Piramida, the progression back through their catalogue has been a revelation. Their two most recent albums Piramida and Magic Chairs contain relatively identifiable songs. Their first two albums and their related EPs, including this one, are much more ambient, particularly in their use of strings and brass, and are perhaps most closely related to (and perhaps influenced by) Sigur Ros and Craig Armstrong. This paired first album and EP is one of those records that is impossible to describe adequately other than to say it contains three brilliantly atmospheric "songs", Collecting Shields, Monopolist and Antitech that bear comparison to the best of Iceland's finest, and absolutely no weak tracks at all. If you like ambient rock, you will definitely like this.
