well ive never been a huge fan of live albums anyway,so this although enjoyable is no way a masterpiece.nothing wrong with it but the intrigue and mystery of the zombie world seems reduced to another stadium band?
The atmosphere of the live performance comes out at you through the speakers - and this is just FANTASTIC!! The CD leaves you wanting to be there and that is really brilliant because there aren't many live performance CD's that leave you with that feeling. Rob is the King of the stage and the rest are just pretenders.........
In a genre that is often awash with sub standard bands attempting to copy Rob Zombie's style, it is fitting that this, his final album is a live recording and what an excellent album it is.
I have witnessed the live experience of Zombie myself during his White Zombie days and as this album showcases, he is an amazing performer and his live material transfers amazingly to the stage. Backed up by the guitar talents of John 5 ex - marilyn manson, the sound is crisp and the music is tight.
Zombie's old material sounds as fresh as when it was recorded and this is sliced with his best stuff from educated horses. My only grumble is that the live set did not include the excellent 'Iron head' from Sinister Urge.
Zombie's talent is undeniable and whilst he is likely to turn his back on the music that made his name, this live experience would be a fitting way to bow out.
Show some respect to Zombie and buy this album, it is a must for all diehard fans.
