It's a long while since my ears were turned to this wonderful Montreux Jazz set in hearing the incendiary "Compared To What?" on the radio, and I tracked down the album on vinyl.
That track, and the whole album set, has been a jazz fave of mine ever since - and I recently filled the gap in my CD collection by installing this excellent remaster, which includes a bonus track.
The interplay and spark between the players is magical, just put it on, dim the lights and set yourself mentally stage-front at Montreux to hear this fiery, spontaneous and accomplished group lift the roof, or the sky, on the festival!
Purchase it and find a new favourite; this music speaks for itself.

This was a superb concert with a great feel and real energy from the players. If Compared to What doesn't get you moving, nothing will. Eddie Harris great on tenor sax and the wild reed-trumpet, a horn not as smooth as normal trumpet but exciting in his hands. The album is good all the way through and well recorded.
