I purchased the poco baby hammock because like my first child my second had terrible trouble settling in her moses basket, she suffered with really bad reflux which I read the hammocks help and it did, she's so cwtchy an comfy an I love how stylish it looks.
I love this for my baby. I had one before. Everything was perfect when delivered and so easy and quick to assemble. Baby is so comfortable in it. Also love the fact it's easy to travel with too. Wouldn't do without it :)
It is good but not as good as I had hoped. My 3,5 month old still does not sleep through the night so this was not a magic solution I expected it to be. Having said that we used it from birth and she is a good sleeper always sleeping in at least 3hr stretches since she was born, but she did sleep the same on holiday in a travel cot so maybe she would have slept well anyway.
The hammock takes very little space in our very small bedroom so that is a positive. The baby seems very cosy in it and it is very easy to swing her back to sleep. However as the baby is getting heavier I find it very strenuous to put her in and take her out and I don't think it will last for much longer.
We love it. My 2 month baby would wake up every 5 minutes while napping in her bed due to the Moro Reflex. Here she sleeps up to 1h30. We really love it. The only inconvenience is that we have to keep the hammock moving all the time otherwise she wakes up 2 or 3 minutes after it stops.
The material is good, the assembly is easy (I did it by myself without my husband). However she never stays balanced in the hammock, she tends to lean to one side... we solved that by laying her with her back to one of the sides (even though the manufacturers advise to only lay with the stomach up).
I got this hammock (on Kiddicare - it's £159 with next day delivery there) when my newborn was two weeks old. It is a great product: fits right next to our bed, swings in all directions and the baby (now two months old) sleeps peacefully in it. His sleeps immediately got longer by approx. 1 hour compared to a Moses basket because of the swinging motion that soothed him. He now sleeps for up to 6 hours which is pretty good for a breastfed baby without any Gina Ford routines (we could be just lucky). The hammock is also easy to store and transport as it takes very little space. For all the mums reading this - I definitely recommend it!
