Engaging, well written action packed fantasy.

Listed here as book six, this refers to the Drenai timeline, White Wolf is actually the tenth book in the Drenai series if read in the order Gemmell wrote them in.
This, like pretty much all his work, is a fantastic heroic fantasy. The protagonist is a legendary swordsman named Skilganon who is seeking atonement for his past.
The book is full of fantastic action scenes with beasts warriors and quirky characters. A lot of the plot is told in flashback sections explaining Skilganon's past which I rather liked, really fleshed him out and helped balance out the action scenes throughout.
Though Skilganon and Druss are a pair of excellent characters a lot of Gemmell's other characters were actually more interesting from the brave boy Rabaylin to the slightly unhinged crossbow woman Garriane, all having interesting back stories and well woven parts to play.
Bottom line is if you are a fan of Gemmell's other works than this book is for you.
+ Skilganon and Druss.
+ Flashback scenes are excellent.
+ Good pacing.
+ Interesting cast of characters.
