Generation Wild

It isn't often that a band's third album is their best one, particularly when it's also with their third singer. But five years after their groundbreaking debut, and three years after their slightly disappointing sophomore effort, Crashdiet have managed to pull off just that. Generation Wild takes the best parts from Rest In Sleaze and hammers them out into something new, melding them with elements from Crashdiet's 80s influences.

After the cacophonous introductory section, the album opens with Armageddon, a hard rocker with an infectious riff that wouldn't sound out of place on one of the earlier Mötley Crue albums. This song essentially sets the tone for the rest of the album, particularly with regard to the excellent performance and production - great riffs, big backing vocals, and a considerable range from new singer Simon Cruz.

It's difficult to name highlights from this album, because I can honestly say that I love every track. Armageddon, Generation Wild and particularly the incredibly catchy Chemical (although I do wonder if it's too poppy...) are the songs that I most want to blast out of my car and sing along to. There are also plenty of dirty, sleazy rockers - Native Nature, Rebel and Down With The Dust bring to mind Skid Row, Nitro, and the plethora of underrated late 80s glam metal bands. The album has its fair share of ballads - Save Her is particularly well executed, managing to sound emotional without falling into the stereotypical acoustic-intro power ballad that so plagued the 80s scene.

All in all, I basically have nothing bad to say about this album - it's everything I could wish for from a glam/sleaze record and more, and I hope it propels Crashdiet to renewed success at home and abroad.

We love this album, i was a massive Glam fan of the 80,s my fav was w.a.s.p, skid row. poison, and these guys work too... They have the image and the attitude.. i have really got into crashdiet and this album especially is one of the best they have done!!.. i feel it mixes with a bit of punk which adds to their unique sound!!...
Simon cruz reminds me so much of the last hard man!! SEBASTIAN BACH!! i have always said no one in the rock world could ever touch Sebastians voice!! but yes SIMON CRUZ does, he has such an amazing voice, and can sing anything from lovely classics to harder rock!! and with a punk attitude, this album is my fav from all 3.. as i said it really works and is so much fun!! these guys deserve a huge break!!!...

Support this band!! and check them out!! this world has lost the unique sounds of the Rock bands and attitude!! and with Simon cruz as the front man they stand a very good chance, if the public give them a chance!!.. so dont wait no more!! buy their albums!!.. you will not be let down!!:)

Rock on!!

I'll keep this short and sweet. Superb. After a few spins you'll be singing your head off and stamping your feet and feeling like a sleaze legend. This is the first album in a very long time that I'm happy to repeatedly listen to over and over again, without skipping any tracks to get to the best ones.
