Tobacco is the guise of Tom Fec the frontman of Black Moth Super Rainbow. This is his second solo outing and come out on the back their album Eating Us which was a great slice of summer and this might just over shadow that. Its a fuzzy, electronic workout fizzes into action with Constellation Dirtbike Head which puts its distorted vocals into play against an electronic fuzz and drums backing. A bit breathlessly the album the launches into the first of two numbers featuring Beck (this one is better). Beck's vocals are chopped up are laid over loud fuzz and electronics again. This wouldn't sound out of place on some of Beck's more adventurous offerings. All the tracks here are short and punchy numbers with a driving electronic feel, vocals that are only part of the mix and not leading it - if they are there at all. Lyrics aren't even a consideration as they fill one page of the cd booklet.

The stand out track here though is Sweatmother. Only two minutes long. Sounding as dirty and alive as the name suggests it really brings all the sounds into play and the breathy, distorted vocal works well against the electronics.

As an album it does tend to get a little repetitive towards the end. But any of the tracks can be played by themselves quite happily. If you want to hear something a little different with lots of summery electronics, drum beats, and that's almost psychedelic in its beats and use of sounds then this is the ideal purchase. It certainly is different.

One of my favourite releases last year. Bought on recommendation. Mental, funny, confusing, must be played loud. It's totally demanding - I can't function when this is on. Lots of tunes in here and it sounds great.
