Mix Reactions to Another Rough Urban Youth Life in London
on 19 April 2013
Shank doesn't really stand on it's own, being a movie about rough urban London and youth going at it again, it feels alot like Kidulthood and someone decided to make a movie and branch off from that with it's own story and unique setting. There loads more cliches in this movie, such as runs in with the police and nightclubs in London and etc. It feels like you've seen it all before.
First time I saw it, I was having mix reactions of this movie, it was everything wrong about London and it's future. It doesn't feel 'futuristic' in a science fiction sense of alot of lights and etc, it's more like nature gone wild around the next block or down the street or in some council estate for the sake of it.
The characters are your typical stereotype of a common someone. I do think there much need for it and it's nice that there some room for presenting this. I'm surprised that most of the characters do feel a bit real, are bold and present themselves very well in this movie.
