This pan is perfect for us. Its design is very practical. It uses much less water than a conventional pot. It easily cooks one pack of pasta with none of the pasta sticking to the pan as I've experienced in the past. And it comes out perfectly from the dishwasher.

Yes, Le Creuset can be a lot more expensive than other pots and pans, but the expense is totally worth it. I am now on a mission to (slowly!) replace all my pots with Le Creuset!

This is an excellent bit of kit for cooking pasta. The bottom of the pot can also be used as a stock pot. A steamer can be bought separately giving one more flexibility.

Great pan for pasta, or other cooking too, have used plenty of times to boil vegetables too, so much easier than using a colander.

Yes - a little on the steep side in terms of cost (much cheaper alternatively available) BUT you do pay for what you get AND this is an item that will last a lifetime. Definately an item that is a worthwhile investment. Multi purpose pan too, not only a pasta pot, but great for veg/potatoes, stews/cassaroles and much much more! LOVE IT.!!!!!!

Excellent quality as I would expect - lost a star because I thought the strainer was quite flimsy- was hoping it could be used to boil/strain other foods but not so sure now! Still a good buy though. Have found out that they are now available in the Le Creuset outlets for £55 less so I am a bit miffed about that.

I have owned a few Le Creuset items in the past. And I can say that you really do pay for quality. The stainless steel pans feel so solid to touch. I can see myself using these for many years to come. Be warned that as they are stainless steel, you do get the odd stain in the normal course of cooking. And the hardness of your water supply will affect how the pans look. However, all these stains are just superficial and can be cleaned if you have the time (or inclination!).

This is a lovely pasta pan set and is also very useful for large amounts of potatoes, veg etc as so easy to drain by just lifting out the perforated insert. An essential bit of kit.

As a pasta pot or steamer it is not very good. It does a meesy job as it overflows with or without the lid on. And I tried reducing the level of water and pasta to a minimum acceptable. Good for large soup or stew preparations though.
