Golla Smart Bag for Mobile
on 8 January 2011
Used to protect and carry an HTC Wildfire smart phone. Would take a larger type too.
A compact and fairly discrete black case, having a flap over velcro cover, with not-too-much textile decoration or badging showing on it. The case comes with some additional storage pockets as well as the main phone/mp3 area.
With a ProGel cover also fitted to this phone, it creates a nice snug slide-in fit. Without an accessory case/cover, it is an easy fit. The bag does its job well in providing a flexible, protective and secure means of carrying, when no clothing pocket is conveniently available and when any activity tasks in hand might cause a phone to drop out.
The only disappointment lies with the accessory pockets. These are small and rather tight for what I would like to carry with the phone. They suit credit card/travel card and maybe small ear-fit headphones, but not much more. If you one to carry the provided neck cord too, then it is already filled. Would be handier with a pocket capable of taking more than one cord or h/phone set too. After all, with the trouble of fitting a zip to such a small pocket, that could have extended slightly to a larger one with little, if any added cost.
Otherwise it does what is needed. The caribiner clip is a great way of attaching to/detaching from all kinds of belts, belt loops, straps, cords, etc. and gives a good sense of secure fit. In the past I've been used to mobile phone cases with integral clips coming detached all too easily, from belts etc. when knocked or caught by external objects, or just rotating around to awkward angles. This solution works as well in robust environments, as it does in more gentile ones and is available for many other Golla Bag variations too.
