Enjoyed the first 6 books in the series, the only thing preventing me from continuing purchasing the books is the current price which at £5.99 for the kindle edition is more than it would cost to buy new popular paperbacks from the supermarket.
So for the moment I will try reading some of the other books I have stacked up in my kindle or catch up with other authors like James Patterson / Lee Child and hopefully return to this series in the future.

I had struggled to read this book about half way before the story finally took off. In the end, this story was quite an enjoyable read.

Read on my Kindle and so did not know the date of publication. Published in 1989 it was remarkably up to date in terms of plot content and characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Would have been very good but for the ludicrously complicated plot, which unfortunately become a feature in Connelly's books. In the end the true motive for Elias' murder was simply silly and unbelievable, also par for the course with many Bosch books, alas. Overblown and wildly unrealistic but still readable. In this Bosch is not yet a caricature but he's no longer a real person. Enjoyable enough, mind.

Whether you are a follower of Bosch or not, you will be unable to put this book down and will find yourself reading well into the early hours.
A superb plot with twists and turns that will keep you guessing almost to the end. The characters are fulsome and well-rounded, utterly believable. There are shocks and sadness in a story that sounds all too real.
Full marks Michael Connolly.

Another great read!
This book follows in line with the previous Harry Bosch books... again full of suspense and a satisfactory ending... Harry Bosch never disappoints! .. I'm already reading book No. 8 which proves to be a winner... Although, the books can be read out of sequence it is best to start with book No. 1 and work your way through to the last book (20?)...

Another great novel in the Harry Bosch series. Gripping plot, as always. Sadly let down by the transcription to Kindle which is truly awful: missing line endings, missing quotation marks, and even missing lines of text. A real botch up job.
