Alright film,decent drama,not exceptional.

Nice to see a post apocolypse drama without any militaristic features. No dramatic diplomatic incidents or frantic military commanders, happily this film contained no war rhetoric or cliches at all. It was really about a boy and his son trying to escape their desperation, starvation with little hope remaining. This is a quiet film with almost no music ,the scenes and characters keep the film alive with a steady pace, you will be bored by this film if its not your type of film. There's sadness at the end and the two leading characters kept my interest where if this film was made badly it would never have. It's a well made quiet drama about the horror and deprivation experienced after an apocolypse where a minority struggle and some fail and fewer find at least dysfunctional sanctuary with others. A tragic tale. If your looking for extreme thrills and overplayed drama this is not for you. It's a well judged film, worth seeing once to see what a good example of this can be. Not prize winning ,but good enough, I was pleased and was drawn into the drama. A sensible post apocalyptic drama without the obvious cliches.
