It seems that several popular collectable compilations are being released at the same time, bit naughty really, knew the 'Amazon' vouchers i got at Christmas would come in handy, though this of course does have has many tracks previously released in the series The music on-board as is the theme with this music-series is in the main from the 70's though there are indeed one or two exceptions to be found. As always the series have put together a collection of many popular sounds from those days of yesteryear, music is, for me, all about reflection, some of which of course is treasured, some, maybe not so. One thing I do know, music was enjoyable back then, you could sing along to it and indeed dance to it, the songs on-board all well known tracks for those that listened to the songs of the day back then, many, soft, easy listening, some, a little more up-beat such as 'Coz I Love You' from 'Slade' and 'Proud Mary' from'Ike and Tina Turner' I'll just highlight a few of the tracks from each of the 2-Discs to give you a feel for what can be found upon the play-list ...... On disc one .......'10 cc' --'The Things We Do For Love' (10cc one of my favourite groups from the 70's era)........'Crystal Gayle' --'Don't It Make Your Brown Eyes Blue'........'Tavares' --'More Than A Woman'........'Captain and Tennille' --'Do That To Me One More Time'........'Helen Reddy' --'I Am Woman'..........just a few of the favourites of the day that can be found among the 18-Tracks on disc one..........on disc two...........'Commodores' --'Three Times A Lady' (The group of course was fronted by 'Lionel Ritchie')........'Gladys Knight and The Pips' --'Help Me Make It Through The Night'........'Yvonne Elliman' --'If I Can't Have You'........and........'Donna Summer' --'I Feel Love'..........again just some of the great sounds harboured on disc two......... I have merely pin-pointed a handful of tracks from each of the two discs, though of course there are many more worthy of a mention, however what I have indicated may perhaps help you decide on whether or not to check out the complete listings for the release.
a good compilation of oldies but a lot of these are already on a previous Jackie album which I own the love songs 3cd set surely there are enough of these type of hit singles to come up with a completely different track listing
Excellent CD, and a vast improvement compered to the last Jackie CD, that simply had to many tracks that had already been covered / repeated from other Jackie CD's. It seems the producers are know heading in the right direction at last. If the next Jackie CD is full of unrepeated new tracks I should think it will be very popular and sell in large volumes' . One track I would sagest to be included in there next Jackie CD release is, a record by the artist MUD, called CRAZY. As this song was covered in Jackie magazine back in 1973, and as yet as not been on any Jackie CD release.
Jackie Love Songs this is a good album with a good collection of songs,i have alot of the Jackie albums as it they are handy to get single tracks that you like and don't want the artist album,it's a good way of getting the best bits, covers most of the love songs that we all remember, great buy.
Back to the seventies in a flash. The amount of songs I had actually forgotten about, and there are plenty to choose from. Great trip down nostalgia lane. Some of the songs now sound dated but lots of classic tracks here to grab your attention, and to provide a memory jog back to the seventies. Great album.
