Not 1 my favourite books by this splendid author

I was expecting a fabulous tale with lots of twists and turns but was a tad disappointed with this one sadly. The location sounds idyllic in summer (despite the feuding locals) &extremely harsh and desolate in winter due to the setting of the beginning half of book. It does liven up half way through and becomes more gripping and mysterious. Some of the local characters are extremely endearing and many get their comeuppance too. If you enjoyed this talented author in previous tales, stick with it but I do think it's not as exciting as her other work.
