Shadow Circus are a new(ish) four piece US Progressive rock band - they hail from New Jersey but this isn't Springsteen or Bon Jovi - No Shadow Circus take their inspiration from an earlier era from the likes of Emerson Lake and Palmer and The Nice and King Crimson

Whispers and Screams is their second CD and mighty good it is too with lots of long instrumental passage / time signature shifts and what sets them a bit apart is both their lyrical stance and also the "Driving" nature of this prog - this one really rocks out - if you're a fan of an overdriven hammond organ and wailing guitar then this may well be right up your street

On some other songs they display a much lighter and delicate touch
If this is CD 2 then just how good will CD be? Whispers And Screams

If you check out a prog band this year then have a look at shadow circus - you won't be disappointed - I certainly wasn't

Whispers and screams is a solid effort throughout from a band I had not previously heard. I will certainly be taking a look at their previous album. It seems quite busy and intricate throughout keeping the readers interest and not getting dull.
