For many, Michael Jackson died a death many years before, with all the incomprehensible child molestation allegations and trials , pay-offs - weird marriages and the subsequent bizarre tales of his progeny, dramatic plastic surgery etc.etc. etc.- However, when watching 'This is It', I began to remember the Michael Jackson that an entire world was completely enamored with in the '80's. There he was, the sunglassed pale spidery spectacle, popping his rhythms as he emitted that falseto voice we all can hauntingly recall- like a very distant friend that you miss, but you can't remember why...but the film will remind you. It's mesmerizing-captured in filmed rehearsals, the magic of Michael Jackson was actually alive and well until his very fatal overdose. So, the film is a marvel to watch , yet the mourning and sense of loss happen all over again , the sorrow all the fans felt many years prior , all comes flooding back- as one realises when watching this last tribute, what a fantastic , talented quirky genius Michael Jackson was and the tragedy, that his reclusive personal life led to his demise.Buy this one- it's an historic account of one of the greatest musicians and entertainers of all time.

I'm not that much of a MJ fan, maybe in the early nineties when 10-15 I was. I bought this because it was cheap - £2. I thought there must be issues with I - one star reviews say how boring it is - well, it kinda is, it's just 80% handheld semi-pro footage of rehearsals for 1h50mins - not the most exciting to watch....buts its just gets 4stars for a chance to see MJ move one more time, his final performance of Billy Jean where the 20 something's dancers are in Orr and MJ just finishes with a humble 'so you get a feel of it'. It leaves you wishing he could of just done the show one more time, or at least one full dress rehearsal at theo2. Sadly that never happened and MJS and the crews massive hardwork never happened:(

I love it.
Of course it looks messy and rough, that is why called rehearsal.
I advise to all viewers to watch the special features too.
You will be able to visualise better how it would had looked on the concert.
It would had been spectacular.
