`Zombieland' is a pretty decent Zom-com and manages to be both gross and funny at the same time. This follows four people who are trying to survive in Zombieland (a decimated America) and who decide to stick together after a tricky meeting. They are headed to LA to go to Pacific Playland and try to avoid Zombies on the way. This open with funny Zombie evasion/survival rules which are added to throughout the film. The graphics for these rules pop up on the screen and are often knocked over or moved by the action on screen which is a novel touch. There is excellent acing from all involved and Woody Harrelson is as great as we have come to expect. There is also a cameo from another well known actor which makes for a funny five minutes in the film. This has a good soundtrack with a good mix of metal and other music to give the right balance of action and sentiment to the film. This is way better than I thought it would be and although it gets compared to `Shaun of the Dead' they are different movies really and just as enjoyable as each other in their own ways. This doesn't take itself too seriously and as long as you aren't expecting a full on zombie horror movie (although this is certainly gory, but with a pinch of salt) then this should make for just under 90 minutes entertaining viewing.
