I've given this product 5 stars, I'm really pleased with it, and in my opinion it will do exactly what its supposed to well. I took a bit of a gamble based on the more negative reviews, and expected a box of broken matches. As someone had commented previously the packaging made me fear that the goods inside would not have survived. A recycled box reformed and then taped up by a crazy horse. After about 5 minutes with scissors snipping through the web of tape I was able to open the box and see the Clothes Airer was still all in one piece, phew. For what it is it's constructed well, one dowel looks a bit rough at the joins but other than that its all smooth and well fitted. Nothing that a little rub with some sandpaper wont sort. The airer just lifts up and has two height options which lock into place with a sliding wooden tab. I think it will be strongest on the lower option which still stands at about 1.5m approx. I'm using it upside down to the image shown, there seem to be different opinions on which way round it should go and I'm just not sure! I chose this wooden dryer based on it's looks, and natural materials, it will be used as a general towel airer, (I use Hammam towels which are light cotton) in the bathroom, and for drying lighter garments socks, undies, leggings etc. It would not be suitable loaded with very wet heavy linens, towels, jeans etc, but I knew this when I bought it, and I hang my BIG washing on the line outside. For an occasional half load on rainy days it's perfect. I admire the classic design which makes me feel nostalgic. I got mine for under fifteen pounds with free P&P, a fraction of the price of many airer's on the market. Use it with respect and it will last many years.
