She-wolf of London is a short lived comedy/horror series which ran from 1990 to 1991 and was aired on the Sci-fi channel.
The series follows the exploits of american university student Randi Wallace who travels to an english university to study mythology. While conducting some research by herself on the english moors she is attacked and bitten by a werewolf and as a result she too is cursed to become a werewolf every full moon. From then on she and her university professor Ian Mattheson try to find a cure and along the way they encounter and battle a number of other supernatural creatures including zombies, demons and vampires in hilarious circumstances while trying to deny the undeniable feelings they have for eachother.
Personally I really enjoyed this series but it may not be to everyones liking. If you prefer serious supernatural dramas such as Poltergeist:The legacy, or X-files you may not enjoy this. But if you are looking for something that is fun, cheesy and romantic in a comical way then this series would be ideal for you.
My only criticisms for this dvd set is that due to the fact the series was abruptly cancelled there is no satisfactory endning and sadly there are no extras. No audio commentary, no interviews with cast members, absolutely nothing. But please dont let that deter you from buying what I consider to be a very fun and highly under rated television series.

Bearing in mind that this was a UK/US co-production, why haven't we had a UK release?
This is one of my all-time favourite series and the first half of the series (UK production) was brilliant but then the second half (US production) arrived and for me it dropped in story quality and production values.
The she-wolf was played in some episodes by Diane Youdale (Jet from Gladiators).
However, it's well worth getting for some fun viewing.
I remember seeing the first few episodes of this series when it first came out but sadly this HTV/MCA co-production faded out after just one series.
Randi Wallace (Kate Hodge) an American student studying Mythology is bitten by a werewolf whilst camping on the moors and professor Ian Matheson (Neil Dickson) tries to help her find a way to defeat the curse, keeping her chained in the cellar when the moon is full.
It's a light hearted horror comedy with zombies, a Bog man, succubae, possessed books, a haunted circus, Star Trek/Flash Gordon style buffoonery and a touch of romance amidst the general creepiness and mayhem. The first 14 largely British based episodes started off ok but soon began to fade and after 14 episodes it was moved to Los Angeles with a change of name to Love and Curses. Ian gets a job hosting a TV talk show on the paranormal with Randi helping produce the show. The last 6 episodes had less an accent on classic horror and more on comedy with a Stepford style neighbourhood, Trolls, cupid, vampires, witches and the CIA it never really found its proper niche and was soon cancelled.
It was a promising show for a while with great onscreen chemistry between the two leads and Kate Hodge's stocking clad legs helped a lot.
Full marks to Universal and great-tv-shows.com for releasing this, sadly it is Region 1 so you will need a multi-region DVD to play it.
