Mia seems to have so much to offer the world but her circumstances are harsh - her mother has no visible affection for her. We never learn about her father. She is trying to grapple with the strong emotions she is experiencing and trying to understand the world. At the end of the film I really hope that she has a brighter future as she seems to have a lot of good qualities that just need the right environment to bring them out. Katie Jarvis is outstanding! Highly recommended film-making.

Fish Tank is one of those rare moments in film-making fields that makes you realized, you don't need the cookie-cutter of the Hollywood factory. This is a tender film that handles difficult and almost-taboo issues with such a realistic perspective. The main character(Katie Jarvis), demands your attention with her great performance as a teenager in her blossoming phase. Gorgeous and real, is the main tones of this gem. Stay away if you do not like films that focused on characters and dialogues. Those who loves thought-provoking films, please do pick up this fragile "Fish Tank".

This is a strange, yet very interesting, piece. I'm having violent fights over it on IMDB board. This is not very easy to come to a definate conclusion about who's the vilian in the movie, and who isn't. Watch it, it will definately make you think, and broaden your vision on a number of important things.

Set in East London, this movie doesn't show any pity for human beings. The young protagonist is ignored by everybody, her own mother treat her as a burden (and doesn't hide it). She's going to find out that she needs to find a better life for herself, after after the boyfriend of her mum whom she thought she could trust has turned her down (sooooo down!!)
It's a pleasure to see the protagonist acting, seems so real; Michael Fassbender has never been so sexy, portraying the evil-middle man; the locations chosen give you a sense of desolation.
Definitely going to see it again!

Not in 5.1 though as indicated by the Amazon Video app on xbox one (Blu-ray' indicates/lists 5.1) but Amazon streamed version failed to deliver 5.1

1.37:1 aspect ratio is intended though for anyone watching thinking something has also gone wrong with the visual element eg the playback.
