2020 Texas Gladiators is a post apocalyptic film from cult director Joe D'Amato and one that I really enjoyed watching even in this so-so edition but the picture is only a little better than video and cuts are obvious and extensive despite boasting uncut edition, after watching the film I went browsing along the net and found my suspicions were confirmed on several sites so I'm not just guessing, still its a fairly enjoyable film without all the gore and rape, having said that you might want to wait for a real uncut version to surface before buying, if you liked the Bronx Warriors Trilogy [DVD] this film is a must (and vice versa) but a better version would be nice, guess I'm happy with what's available for now though. As for the film itself many looking at this know the drill, future world, people in poverty, punk psycho's on bikes shooting everyone, sci-fi weaponery, innocents trying to rebuild a peaceful society and a corrupt organisation trying to enslave them, now granted this isn't the smartest plot but its a hell of a lot of fun and more than good enough for a lighthearted evening in.

This is a respectable release of this film. It appears to have been brought together from multiple sources, mostly it is a fine DVD presentation, with a small portion looking like its sourced from tape. It runs 86 minutes PAL, IMDB puts this film at 91 mins uncut (probably an NTSC runtime) so this version is not significantly cut as PAL always runs several minutes faster than NTSC. I checked the web and could find only one person on a forum saying its cut in comparison to their old video tape, but by less than a minute. Most if not all of the violence appears to be intact so I doubt its censored in that respect. I did not notice any jarring trims. Im happy to own this release so its either get this or enjoy a long wait for a fully uncut DVD or a Blu ray. But seeing as this one used a tape source maybe a BD is out of the question?
