Brilliant song writing, crafted lyrics and a band of exceptional musicians. Another great album. Eileen's albums are never dull or predictable and thankfully difficult to classify. Excellence and Eileen's rich alluring voice are constants whether the music is rock, country, folk, Americana or alternative indie. Luna Turista (the launch of which coincided with her recent and exceptional European tour) has a slight country bias. But, don't be put off if you think country isn't your cup of tea, the songs are of such pedigree that you'll soon be booking a flight to Nashville - just listen to 'Why am I Awake' and 'Trouble from Tomorrow' for starters. And into the mix go some excellent ballads and rock including the uplifting opening 'Sad Ride Home' and the gritty 'Strange.'
The Holy Wreck are the backing band and include The Legendary Rich Gilbert - impossibly outstanding on guitar and Joshua Hedley on violin and support vocals.
Eileen Rose has yet to produce a poor or even average album. I have the entire collection and they are all consistently excellent. She is one of the best songwriters of the last ten years and I am forever amazed (but also slightly/selfishly pleased) that she isn't a fixture in every music collection.
Buy Luna Turista now. Then check out At Our Tables.
