Nikki Iles is often found accompanying other leading musicians and singers such as Tina May. She is a very fine accompanist but this CD shows what a great talent Iles has as a pianist in her own right. Her choice of repertoire is very refreshing, avoiding the over-exposed and concentrating on lesser-known works. This only adds to the air of sensitive improvisation and delicately-strung harmonies. The Canadians Hopkins and Michelli provide tasteful support to Iles's impeccable playing.
