Good product, well laid out and easily installed. Installed with large 3rd party heatsink with no problems at all - lots of clearance around CPU socket. BIOS very comprehensive and nicely segregated with easy functions up front, but with enough depth to configure anything you could wish for. Express Gate works and delivers browser within seconds, but you need a wired LAN connection as no wireless drivers are loaded at this stage.
Note that you will need to update the BIOS to 1207 in order to work with Win 7 (64 bit) and iTunes. There is a known issue with Intel's P55 chipset, Win 7 and iTunes in that iTouch/iPhone are not recognised. Some sort of problem with USB implementation. BIOS upgrade is simple and effective and achieved in windows with no need for boot disks or similar
Bought this to go with the new i5. Please note, this is a 1st time builders review. I am no know-it-all, nor do i claim to be.
The manual that comes with this is small but covers everything. My advise to any other 1st time builders is read the manual for the motherboard (and chip) before you rush out to buy the rest of the components. I fitted this into a Antec Midi Case, it fitted, but it was very tight, especially getting the input/output panel lined up with that of my case.
The corsair ram was a nightmare to get in. The manual says, 'don't force it' but there is no otherway to get it in! This takes DDR3 Ram, read the manual for the longlist of recommended RAM. The Chip fitted easily.
