After a couple of brief set up scenes which introduce the beastie who looks nothing like the buff werewolf featured on the DVD cover, we are meet the main but still largely expendable characters. Four men on a male only weekend meet younger four girls out for a break and whilsy they chatter inanely we just wait for the critter to appear. It seemed familiar and I'd actually forgotten I had seen this film before, surprisingly it must have made very little impression on me the first time and wasn't until the oregano scene when the penny dropped and that sense of deja vu vanished,
The creature seems like it was thrown together out of all sorts of bits and pieces including a head like a boar and the chest of a massively steroid abusing weightlifter. It looks crazy but as daft as it looks it is reasonably effective, it seems to do a lot of tearing with those claws but those jaws weren't made for biting.
Almost everything about it cries out for it to be avoided, the acting is very basic but the creature and make up effects alone made it watchable, there's no daft CGI here. The mix and match appearance of the beast shouldn't work but it does and It's one I'll watch again, albeit maybe on a cold wet winter night.
The only extras are a few odd trailers.
