I bought this cd mainly because of its price ,I do not find most of his music enticing but best of cd,s over a long career are usually
worth listening to , as the only album of his that I have is transformer I expected a few new tracks but at least half the cd is
transformer so if you have one then you do not need the other and as for the vender they dispatched quickly and their description was fair and honest

All tracks remastered and this is certainly a definitive selection of his most popular work. His distinctive gravelly voice is so full of life, it's difficult to remember he's gone. He pushed the boundaries and got away with it. His poetry is timeless, his work is unique and it's still a pleasure to listen again and again to tracks first recorded over 30 years ago. Every track contains social comment and if you don't have a Lou Reed album, this is the one to start with. And if, like me, you already have some of his albums, have a listen to this one anyway. The remastering is brilliant.

A somewhat strange compilation covering the years 1972-1982, but omiting tracks from the critically acclaimed "Berlin" and the excellent "Rock N Roll Animal" live album. In addition it includes several sub-par tracks ("Andy's Chest", "Shooting Star"), so naming it "The Best of Lou Reed" is a little misleading.

"The Best of Lou Reed" is a must for any record collector. "Walk On The Wild Side" is a remarkable piece of art!
