It was an okay movie but a bit disappointed with the storyline I prefer gory horror movies instead of a psychological horror/thriller and that's exactly what this movie is. I was expecting a movies similar to the movie Eden lake I was going to give this just one star because of the storyline but I'm giving 2 stars for the happy ending it had

This is so not what it promise to be, there where little haunting moments, and tortuous, only watching this film was torture! Putting this film alongside the last house on the left, and eden lake is preposterous. The chances these children had to escape or even attack him in numbers, and fear? Where was that? Stress maybe. The only part that is disturbing, is when he forcefully made them strip, all in all this is nothing to do with the synopsis. Don't spend a penny on this poorly acted film if you really must watch this then I highly recommend you RENT it.

This was so appalling we turned it off after 10 minutes!!

Don't waste your money.

Poor, poor effort again from British filmmakers.

TOP 100 REVIEWERon 3 April 2012
Yes that is the basic synopsis of this independent Welsh Film. It is directed by Julian Richard and stars his friend Kevin Howarth as Peter an ex soldier who has `life coping' issues and appears to be living rough in the woods.

Our ne'er do well kids are all bunking off school and have agreed to meet up for a wasted day of `hanging' in the aforementioned woods. On the way the only member of the group who is female Leanne steals a scooter. On arrival it is taken for a `joyride' by would be alpha male Paul. He has a disabled brother who he is carrying everywhere and decides to take him for a ride too. On the way they hit Peter and bravely run off.

Peter awakens and tracks them down, he then decides that he quite likes the company and from that moment on he sort of takes control.

This is really not a horror film but more a psychological thriller or study into mental illness. The children all do quite brilliant jobs of acting and come across as surprisingly believable for such a small budget effort. There is no real gore, but despite that the threat of violence or worse is an ever constant presence and that has to be attributable to the performance of Kevin Howarth.

The music is ok with quite a bit of (c)rap music at the beginning. The ending may not be totally satisfying, but this is more about the journey than the destination as all good films should be. It is also not long with a run time just under seventy minutes. All in all a very good effort, but it is still just 4 stars and is one of those films where nothing more will be garnered from subsequent viewings, but worth giving a go once any way if only for supporting indie Welsh cinema.

A group of five teenage boys, and one girl, head for their usual den in the woods. Two of them bring along a stolen motorbike. Its when two of the boys decide to ride the bike through the woods, that they come across friendly drifter Peter(Kevin Howarth), in fact they actually knock him down with the bike. Peter is unhurt, but comes to the gangs den, and soon gains their trust, with candid tales and a story of hisdog being lost. However it soon becomes apparent that Peter isnt quite as affable as first thought, as he soon shows a very dark side to his character. Soon, the group of kids are trapped in the woods along with the increasingly unhinged Peter.
Based on a real life incident that happened in director Richards' real life, this low budget thriller is a decent effort. Its very short running time, does limit its ambitions though. I'm not sure if the lack of background to Peter's character is a good thing or bad thing. Its nice that we the viewers can judge Peter's motivations for ourselves, but I did want a little more information(it is hinted that he used to be in the Army at one point). The characters of the teenagers are more roundly developed, and I grew to like them all, and cared about their fates.
The main things going for this film, are the excellent cast and the reversal of the trend to show adults in peril from evil children/teenagers. Howarth, here reunited with the man who directed him in 'The Last Horror Movie' delivers the goods as Peter, and the actors playing the teenagers all give very natural performances. After 'Eden Lake','Them' etc, its nice to see that not all children are part time murderers, and although thay are not portrayed as angels, youre still rooting for them to come out unscathed.
A fine effort, could have been fleshed out a little more. A nice 'making of' documentary is to be found in the extras on the DVD. 3 out of 5
