Contour Battery

If you've got a Contour GPS camera there's a reasonable chance that you'll be using it in fairly remote locations where you might not have easy access to a charging point. A fully charged battery with "average" video capture settings will probably get you between 2 - 2.5 hours of recording time. Given the ease of turning the camera on/off this should be enough for most situations but when you're on a "epic" ride in the hills, bike-packing across the country or just wanting to record a particularly long event, a spare battery is a good investment.

This one is the Real McCoy from Contour. There might be cheaper options available but my preference is always to go with the manufacturers own just in case there's a problem and your wartranty gets invalidated for using non OEM parts.

Because it's made by Contour, it just works. There's not really much more to say about it. It fits just like the supplied battery. It holds the same amount of charge (about 2 - 2.5 hrs given "normal" settings) and it charges in the same way. On the topic of charging, when you've only got one battery for your Contour, it's easy enough to charge it in the camera through the USB cable - with a second battery the USB charging adapter becomes a more useful addition (but not essential).

If it had provided a longer charge than the original then it would have been 5 stars. As it is, it's just the same as the one you get with the camera but it does give you and extra 2hours of recording time which I like so it gets 4 stars.

Expensive compared to generic batteries of the same type. The label peeled off on one of these(I bought two) and it got stuck in my contour gps. In trying to extract it the base pulled off the battery. It stuck back together okay but I am not greatly impressed.

It's a battery the same that comes with the camera. A must have unless you can charge on the move.

Its a battery and is just like the one that came with the camera, good to use as a back up as they only tend to last about 2 hrs when using on HD.

For 2 hours of extra recording this simply isn't worth it, the battery supplied with the Contour Roam +2 can supply around 10 hours of use (but you cannot purchase that anymore). Quite why they've gone backwards on the battery I have no idea...

Also bought the camera on here. The battery is ok, although plastic near the contacts is broken. However, it is a pity the button on the camera fell off after six months, and on here there seems to be absolutely nothing you can do. I had to send the camera back to the USA, and they kindly replaced it. I am only saying this as Amazon is not a good place to buy electrical goods as you don't have any way of returning something that is faulty after 30 days.
