Not as good as previous work
on 4 October 2006
Babybird returns with this album after a period of silence from the artist.
One would expect this time would have been taken writing a fantastic bunch of chart topping hits, but unfortunately this is not the case.
The result is a very mediocre album, verging on the realms of poor.
The album starts with the best song on the album called "Too Much". This is a classic "Elton" style song which I believe spans the taste of both older and younger fans. On this song alone I would give the album 5 stars.
But from Track 2 onwards, things quickly deteriorate. Gone are the traces of "You're Gorgeous" and other previous hits. Songs such as "Snails" and "The Little Things" are very bland, uninspiring and frankly let down Babybird.
I am sure lifelong fans of Babybird will add this to their collection, but it is not one for those wanting to get into this artist. The lower-most weak spot of the album has to be "Shoutabout" which makes you wonder just what has happened to the artist during his career break.
