Once again Stephen Jones comes up with the goods. A superb album from a musical genuis. Great pop tunes and a voice to die for. Can't really put it any better than that.

If you're a Babybird fan you'll know what to expect. If you only know him from the You're Gorgeous period then it's time you opened your ears to the other wondrous music this man has made. One of the greatest songwriters this country has ever produced. If only more people out there would buy his music they would realise this for themselves.

Wow! The master of hooky multi-harmonied pop genius is back and how?!?!. This album is simply stunning. Full of wonderful lyrics and quirky production touches and all the things that make Stephen Jones the most underated artist in the UK today.

From the heart string tugging plead against consumerism "Too Much" through power pop love letters of "Snails" and "Lighter 'n' Spoon" he delivers in spades.

Buy it buy it buy it!

A truely great album. Jones has once again brought us infectious and intelligent music with a little edge of dirty floors and dark ally ways. I have been a fan of Babybird and Steven Jones since the early low fi days and he just keeps producing great music. Buy this album if you are fan or buy it if you just like music with a bite!!

6 years ago I saw Babybird live for the 1st time. They had just released 'Bugged' and I fell head over heels for music, the lyrics and the voice. Then....nothing. A unexciting 'best of' and an amazing box set of the four track recordings a few years ago but nothing new. Until now.

AND THIS ALBUM DOES NOT DISSAPPOINT! Lyrically it's as heartbreaking, uplifting, life assuring ect ect, Everything a Babybird record should be. It's a more consistant outing than 'there's something going on' and 'Bugged' but retains the soul of 'Ugly Beautiful'.

Stephen Jones is more than a one hit wonder (don't expect a 'your gorgeous' type hit here), he is an undercelebrated talented songwriter and this album proves he hasn't lost his spark. 'Snails', 'Old Skin' and 'Lighter and Spoon' immediately swirl around the head but every track is pure class.

If you like your pop music with a bit of a twist, then Babybird are your band.

With all these foppish guitar bands boring the pants off us, hail the returning genius, Stephen Jones.

The record label should be prosecuted for not marketing this - buy it now.

As a big Babybird fan, I listened to this a lot on Spotify.
Then overnight it disappeared, bar one track.
I found the album on Amazon, (albeit used), and am chuffed to bits with it!
In very good condition and very fast delivery!
I'm a very happy bunny!
One of his best albums in my opinion.

Wow what a superb collection of real songs written by a wonderful songwriter! This is one of the best babybird albums and includes more singalong tracks that just get stuck in your head for days. They are catchy, but not in your usual pop sense. Perhaps they lean toward the popular side more than some of his tunes but these still have that haunting, darker edge to them that make Babybird so great. This guy is a real genius and deserves more accolade. Keep up the good work Stephen Jones!

After a couple of instrumental albums (which were OK, but really highlight that Stephen's strength is his unique voice), and the hit-and-miss 'almost cured..', this album sees Stephen return to his glorious tuneful best.

Stephen Jones has put most of his hopes and fears into his musical output and at times its been to uncomfortable for his listeners. This new album still has the wry observations of his earlier work but for some reason the man seems to be much more at peace with his own world and its a great improvement on the last album "Bugged" which altho very interesting, was full of personal torment. Typical of Babybird is the soaring melodies and great chorus singalongs on this album and fans are gonna be in seventh heaven at the new stuff (me included).A definate return to form then for Mr Jones after being lost in the wilderness for a couple of years and he has returned with music that is both relevant and interesting......Excellent stuff indeed!

Another uplifting and witty album from babybird. Better than love, Shoutabout and Lighter 'n' Spoon are both beatifully crafted and wonderfully comical, the kind of love songs that cause you to skip about. Snails is a cracking catchy pop song that's great to drive to. The lyrics are not what they used to, but its just great to see them back. Fans of Babybird will not be dissapointed.
