Two returns but exemplary service

Liked the monitor, very clear high definition image, nice big screen. After about 3 months a tiny red speck appeared this developed into a thin grey line. I contacted LG and they couriered out a new screen the next day. This had a green dot on the screen. I contacted LG again and they couriered me an even bigger screen the very next day. I think this was fabulous service. I have an LG screen at work which has run faultlessly for about 18 months so I am sure I was just unlucky with what I got. You can certainly buy with the confidence of knowing that if you have a problem LG will quickly sort it. I have to knock a star off for quality control though.

Not for mounting!!!

I decided to buy this monitor since I read on it's spec that it could be mounted using a wall mounting device.
Indeed, it's possible to mount it to the wall, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to disconnect the base!!!!

I contacted the manufacturer regarding this issue and they answered me that the "neck" which connects the monitor to the base is not removable.

Don't but this product if you going to mount it!

Big, shiny and good value monitor

After reading up on a variety of sub £150 monitors I plumped for this 23 inch LG and am very pleased with it. It seemed to have the best specification for the money.
I am using the monitor with an old HP desktop running Ubuntu and plan to plug in my Vista laptop on occasions. I am not using it for graphics heavy applications, so can't comment on the high performance features but it meets my basic needs well.
It is very light and thin making it easy to lift into position and has a small footprint on the desk. The black glossy finish is good looking and seems like it will be durable.

Classy piece of kit

Received this monitor a few days after order, it was well packaged and all the bits you'd expect were in the box.
Assembly and installation were easy, especially as Windows XP recognised it as plug and play. Installing the drivers and the setup utility were pain free and definitely worth it as the display is very bright and dimming it down using the buttons on the side of the monitor was not easy, the LG utility allows you to do it on screen which is easy.
The images generated are clear and crisp and give good blacks. I've not noticed any ghosting with fast moving images.
The ease of use 'issue' of the brightness/contrast buttons is all that prevents this display getting the full 5 stars, in my humble opinion.

Very Impressive Monitor

I think that like most buyers I tend to do quite a bit of research before making a purchase on most things. Whilst I give this monitor 5 stars I must start with a negative.The Monitor apparently should be supplied with both an EU (2 pin) and UK power lead. The Uk Plugged Lead was not in the kit. I seem to remember somwhere else a complaint about this. Bear in mind that the lead is what I call a 'kettle ' lead (power lead for most desktop computers, so a spare maybe about somewhere.) Having had a previous monitor 'in situ' I just used the old monitor's lead. I admit that if you just bought a new desktop computer and included the monitor it would be a nuisance to find no UK lead. I must emphasize that I never contacted Amazon about the missing lead. Nor can I blame Amazon for something that LG should be resolving during their packing process.

Now for the good news......I am running Windows 7 O/S the box says it works under Vista and is the usual Plug and Play. Although LG recommend installing the software that came with the kit. I did not install it. The reason for this was, I had a few minor problems with Windows 7 and did not want to install outmoded drivers. I thought if this is truly P&P lets see what Windows 7 makes of it...... Oh Ye of little faith! No problem at all, it worked straight away. The screen resolution is set to full HD 1920 x 1080.(This can be adjusted if needed). I do quite a bit of photography work using CS4 and other progs.Since most photos are are taken with the full 12 megapixel setting. This monitor in full HD shows excellent quality on the photos viewd. There has been no obvious change of colour cast across or down the image display. So that's good news for anyone into graphic design or Photography, where it might be critical. If I ever get a Blueray player (who can afford blueray films anyway?)I am sure this monitor's resolution will be brilliant.The screen surface is anti-glare which is useful if windows are nearby.The common glossy black finish looks good and the on off switch is strategically placed and cleverly designed.(If you buy one you will see what I mean). Remember I have not installed the software and am using straight out of the box. I have had no need to alter the contrast/brightness etc. I have a feeling I may need to do this if adjustments are necessary. As I am content with the display.You know the old saying.......If it aint broke ,dont fix it!

I am still tring to work out how LG have managed to to this. It is a widescreen monitor (16 x 9) but shows circles as they would appear in 4 x 3 format. IE; Usually widescreem images you see on some WS televisions and on my previous monitor the image is stretched the fill the screen I was so used to seeing oval circles on my old monitor that I could not believe what I was seeing.There before my very eyes were pefectly round circles. The clever boys at LG have designed something they call Widescreen 4x3 technology. What on earth this I don't know , all I can say is that it works very well. I gotta feeling if I asked how they did it, if they told me they would have to shoot me.

A Great Monitor

I did a great deal of research over a period of about 6 weeks and finally settled on the LG 2343T. It arrived very quickly after placing the order with no delivery charge. I am extremely pleased with its performance especially now that I have upgraded my video card and the power pack from 200 watts to 350 watts. I am now appreciating the enormous benefits of the change from analog to digital viewing and I am wondering why I have put off the upgrade for so long. Its a great monitor at very good price and I am really delighted.

Feels a little cheap when assembling base to display but looks fine on desk. Had problems attempting to install drivers from supplied CD so just let XP do its stuff. Once resolution was set to HD the display looked great, colours good. Excellent value.

Wonderful quality screen for your desktop pc

With this widescreen monitor, LG has created a magnificent product at an affordable price. The screen is bright, the colours are impressive with full high definition. No technical faults either. You just plug it in and it works perfectly. I have this monitor for a few months now and it still works flawlessly. What more could I ask? LG shows how a cheap product can be perfect too.

No Problems whatsoever , Works a Dream

I have had this Monitor for one and a half months now and it has not put a single foot wrong, The build quality is very good for the price, its stays nice and cool and I reckon it would be hard to notice the difference on the picture quality of this to a monitor twice the price at the same size. Highly recommend this monitor. Well worth the money
