A CD and Concert DVD, with a top band assembled for of Ian Gillan's solo tour, this is a bargain at the price. The live versions of the songs do justice to their recorded counterparts and sometimes surpass them, with an aggressive modern sound. Apart from items from Ian Gillan solo projects we also get some neglected Deep Purple classics like Wasted Sunsets, Not Responsible and Into the Fire. But it's the solo cuts that steal the show though. Sugar Plum, No Laughing in Heaven, and Hang Me Out to Dry, spring to mind, plus covers like Have Love Will Travel and Trouble. The DVD is well shot and edited and the mix is decent too.

Ian Gillan has always been hugely creative and this showcases the variety of songs he has penned over the years. For Purple fans, this is an essential purchase. For non purple fans ... well you could always give it a try.

The album is certainly a true reflection of what Ian does stand in front of an audience with a good band behind and deliver vocal performances of the highest standards in the rock arena. The covers of some lesser aired Deep Purple tracks is also to be admired because they stand up in any collection of rock songs. I will agree with another reviewer who referred to the fact that this is only a two disc set rather than three. Amazon should address this in its profile of the album. Musically well performed, vocally the standard we have come to know from Ian and an excellent set list for any live concert.

This Gillan tour concert is REALLY good, with some tracks rarely played live, like "Not Responsible" from Deep Purple's Perfect Strangers record. Ian's voice is in good shape and powerful.

The framerate is quite strangely chopped (maybe because of a NTSC => PAL conversion) but it's a minor issue.

This set contains two discs not three. The dvd has all 20 tracks indicated plus the bonus features. The cd only has 17 tracks. The three that are starred in Amazon's list are not on the cd, only the dvd. However, it's a bargain at the price and well worth getting if you are a fan of Mr Gillan.
