This game has been made too over complicated. the controls are complicated the aiming of the weapon is complicated and the game in general is complicated. if you want a transformers game go for "transformers the game" which you can buy from any game store or from amazon and it is a brilliant game. probably the best game that i have ever played or owned and that is the honest truth.

It's very obvious when the production team realised they were going to make a PS2 version of the game, they did it with the least amount of money or talent that they could. The result is appalling. This game is an utter shambles. There is so much wrong with it, but I will point out three faults that really annoyed me.

Firstly, the gameplay is way too simple, repetitive and inconsistant, move where ever the camera points towards (you have no control over the camera, which leads to some pretty bad angles), and press square or triangle (to hit) or R2 (to shoot) any enemies that pop out in front of you. After the first level, you find yourself mostly bored of this all too exploited concept. The bosses are dreadfully thought out, some are easier to kill than normal gameplay baddies, whilst for others you have to do things that without any indication or instruction (the final stage of killing Devastator is a good example of this, you are instructed to drag a bomb out, and let him suck it up, then shoot it to explode it in his mouth, but nothing tells you that you have to drag the bomb over some random thing that looks like an air vent to charge it up beforehand).
You can't even transform into your vehicle, it is automatically done for you at certain points in the levels.
Also, you swap sides from Autobot and Decepticon randomly depending on the level. At some points you kill characters you have just played, which is not the most rewarding gaming experience.
Sadly, the only thing that provides an actual challenge is when you have to hack a locked door, which provides something to stimulate the brain, although pressing the select button (which is shown as "Bypass" on your screen) automatically completes the challenge for you (they don't want you to be using your head too much now, do they?)

Secondly, the graphics are average, poor considering the graphics in the 360 and PS3 versions suppose to be very good. The PS2 still has enough power for good graphics in it (see Zone Of The Enders as an example), so why make these ones crappy?

Thirdly, I'm not sure the producers and development teams actually bothered to watch the movie, or know the plot. They bill the game as going "beyond the movie", but this is just a remixed story that has similar events and scenes from the movie in it. It's like they cut up the plot and restuck it all together poorly with added bits that just don't make any sense. Utter nonsense.

The days of the PS2 are clearly over, but chucking us this rubbish is just insulting. If you want a good Playstation 2 game, there are hundreds out there, but this is very much not one of them.

I love this game cause u can feel like your a real robot and the thing i don't like about this game is u can be a car only once when your a decpticon trying to out run bumblebee and the autobots but its very easy to beat the fallen cause he's very easy to punch but i'd give this game a 10/10
