Don't Pass This By

This is one album where one song makes it worth the admissionprice......Never Without You is a class tribute to George from Ringo...avery strong melody, almost as if George had helped out here! And thewords are very moving....Ringo of all the people on the planet right nowknew George the best.....I think Paul would be up there too but until hecomes up with a song, this is about the most heartfelt tribute to Georgeyou could wish to find. This track is up there with Ringo's best 10songs, the emotion of It Don't Come Easy, the melody of Photograph, thevery personal lyrics of Early 1970.....plus the added guitar fromEric....this is basically an ESSENTIAL track in any Beatle lover'scollection.
As for the rest of the album, well it's mixed it has to be said.
English Garden is charming, with a delightful reference to the Wingsclassic Let 'Em In....other tracks are quite pleasant for the most partbut in my opinion this band produced stronger material on VerticalMan...it's probably a stronger collection than the pretty disappointingChristmas album....but that's not saying much...but BELIEVE ME when Track5 comes on you will be Blown Away (to paraphrase George's fine 1979 songor Jeff Lynne's classic song from 1989).
