One of the few L.P.s which sounds better without headphones - music for the great outdoors , better listened to with air moving and eyes wide open .
"Voyage into the Golden Screen" and "Widow With Shawl" are just 2 of many fabulous accoustic jewels glinting within , for future generations to discover and marvel at .
The second L.P. ( second half of the C.D.) was always the better ; there are 2 or 3 ordinary songs here , all on the first half .
This release is far better than any of his live stuff . Imaginative folk music without the cringeworthy singing of , for example , The Incredible String Band .This music also avoids the folksy whimsy of Fairport Convention .
A bit like looking through a kaleidoscope - you know what to expect , yet it amazes everytime .
