I'm sitting here watching the Pope beatify Mother Theressa as I write this. The reporter is saying the a lot of people saw her as being 'dogmatic' and things to her were very much black or white. He goes on to say that this is what caused a lot of her critics to be against her. Well . . . Christians today are more and more being lambasted for being dogmatic and for holding strongly held beliefs. It seems to be okay to believe in a lot of things strongly and with force, as long as it ain't Christian. DC Talk, then, would appear to be in a lot of trouble. With songs such as "So Help Me God", "Colored People", "Minds Eye", "Walls" & "Jesus Freak", they are totally at odds with the current, contemporary thinking of this generation and/or the media. They believe implicitly that there is only one way; and they are willing to stand up and shout/sing about it. Not only that they are prepaired to do it loudly and with feeling and not a little veracity. Does that make them cast outs to the people they are trying to reach? Not if this live album is anything to go by. The music is loud, and crowd is loud; and the whole thing Rocks! In this day and age when skimpy and sexy seem to be de-rigueur, here is a group who are not afraid to say that "Luv Is A Verb". More power to them.
ok so this has to be one of the best albums ever! i recommend it 2 ne1 who is in need of a pick-me -up. the rockin sound of dcTalk is at its best blasting out over your loudspeakers so you can shout along with it.
