This Minichamps model is a special one for me as after the heartache of Lewis just missing the driver championship in his debut year, this 2008 car enabled him to clinch the title in the most gripping final race I've seen!

The car looks great and as with other Minichamps models is screwed onto the base. The wheels turn, although the model is quite delicate and Lewis' front left wheel came off on mine and is now superglued back on. The case is transparent plastic (apart from the black base of course) and helps to keep your MP4-23 pristine and prevent it from getting dusty.

The colours match those of the real car and all the sponsor decals are present and in the right place. It's only when you pick this up to look closely at it that you realise the amount of detail captured. Every bodywork join and curve has been meticulously captured. The car is metal with some plastic parts and it feels solid. I've already mentioned that it can be a bit delicate, but that's because of cheap materials or poor construction, it purely because the model is small and the parts therefore can't handle much stress when under pressure.

In a nutshell: A fab looking model which deserves to be displayed. It looks particularly nice when positioned alongside other models. I find they are perfect for seeing the differences between the previous year and the 2009 car - especially when non-fans claim that they all look the same!
