I'm really not a fan of 'alt-country', 'sensitive rock' or any other categories you can put acoustic bands into - but this album transcends all categorisations. To me it sounds like Bob Dylan at his most humble, Love at their most accessible and The Smiths at their most tuneful. It also strangely reminds you of a whole host of Scottish bands; Felt, Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub - they're all in there somewhere. One thing is for sure though, it sounds fantastic.
Every song is a winner, especially 'All Your Bastard Children' and 'Your Tattoos' - both of which are absolute classics and deserve to be properly released in the UK as singles.
This really is a fantastic little album, and is another great example of young Americans doing their hardest to sound truly English..... and I love it!!!
